How do I merge ERP exports into my planning model?
The month-end re-keying grind: NetSuite (or Sage) exports accounts by ERP number and departments by cost-center code; the planning model speaks planning-account names and VP-owned departments. So someone VLOOKUPs two mapping tables, wraps the misses in IFERROR, de-duplicates the ghosts, and pastes the result. Any new account breaks it silently. The demo joins all three files with one question and shows the SQL.
The netsuite_gl.csv + dept_map.csv + account_map.csv sample (netsuite_gl: account_number…) is registered as a DuckDB table in your browser — the exact engine workspaces use. SQL is always shown.
Running on the sample netsuite_gl.csv + dept_map.csv + account_map.csv — the question is editable, and the Your own CSV tab registers your file in your browser instead.
How to merge ERP exports into my planning model — without the manual grind
Three files, one join
The GL export (account_number, dept_code, period, amount), the dept map (dept_code → dept_name, region, vp_owner) and the account map (erp_account_number → planning_account_name). The generated SQL joins GL→dept on dept_code and re-keys accounts through account_map — one clean actuals-by-department-and-account table.
Misses are visible, not IFERROR'd
An ERP account with no mapping shows up as an unmapped row instead of a silent zero. In a workspace you can ask 'show me September actuals whose account number has no mapping' and fix the map — the SQL makes the gap inspectable.
Paste-ready, and repeatable
The result is one table with planning-model keys — paste straight into the model. Save it as an artifact and next month's export re-runs the whole chain in one click.
Common questions
Does it work with NetSuite and Sage exports specifically?
Yes — any GL export with account/department codes and amount columns. The matcher handles account_number/account, dept_code/department/cost_center variants, and joins however many mapping tables your question names.
How big can the files be?
The browser engine handles typical GL exports comfortably. Free workspaces allow files up to 10 MB; Pro raises that to 100 MB per file.
What does Pro cost?
$15/month, or $99/year (two months free). Under most expense-report thresholds — and it replaces an hour of re-keying every month-end.
Run this on your own export, every month
Free workspace: 10 questions/day, files up to 10 MB. Pro $15/mo ($99/yr) for 100 MB. Your files never leave your browser.
